Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how ScanTag collects, uses, stores, and protects your information.
What We Collect
- Email address — used for account creation and authentication.
- Password — stored securely using bcrypt hashing.
- Your items / storage bins — titles, descriptions, and associated QR codes you create.
- Tags — category labels you assign to your items.
- Technical data — such as device information for session management.
How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure). All data is encrypted in transit. Each user's data is completely isolated from other users.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to provide and improve the ScanTag service. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for marketing, or use it for advertising purposes.
Third Parties
- Supabase — database, authentication, and cloud storage.
- Google ML Kit — used only for on-device QR code scanning (no data is sent to Google).
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data and your account at any time directly in the app:
- Sign in to ScanTag
- Tap the menu button (☰) in the top left
- Select "Delete Account"
- Follow the confirmation steps (including holding the button for 10 seconds)
Note: This action is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
Children
ScanTag is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Rights
- Access and view all your data in the app
- Export your data (QR codes and CSV export)
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time
- Request information about how your data is processed
